Have got swept up in cliches and football fever. Am trying to be influenced by the very right-on and creative World Development Site football feature www.wdm.org.uk/whoshouldicheerfor/
But I managed to wrestle the shirt off Lorna's back and have to say I do look pretty cool in it. What do you think?

Have been on my first Proper Holiday. With Lorna, Ron and Lucky, to the New Forest. Lucky (my border collie foster sister) frollicked in the sea but I'm not at all waterproof so stayed on the beach fooling around making sandcastles and going on donkey rides. Talking of which, I very much enjoyed sharing our front garden with the ponies who meandered in. New Forest

Have found a fabulous project. Medicinema. www.medicinema.org.uk. The charity sets up cinemas in hospitals - as simple and wonderful as that. as well as seating for the walking wounded, there are also places for patients in beds and wheelchairs. What a treat in the middle of what's a miserable time at best and a ghastly ordeal at worst. And the perfect opportunity to watch favourite films - Turner and Hooch, The Best in Show, Old Yeller and of course Lassie Come Home.
On the subject of super cinema, how about the growing phenomenon of 'autism friendly screenings'? These wree pioneered by the Ritzy Cinema in Brixton, south London. www.picturehouses.org.uk/static/newsletter/latest/ritz.html
The lights are kept on in the auditorium so that members of the audience can have a bit of a wander around, or out, if they like. And because of the sensory sensitivities of many people with autism, the volume is turned down. Cheap tickets, refreshments afterwards but especially a very welcoming and non-judgmental atmosphere make this a hugely popular event.
You've probably worn out your Lassie videos by now, so why not check out other films starring our favourite species?

It's a funny thing, humour. It's such a cliche that Tibetan Terriers have an exquisite sense of humour. But we do. Nothing we like more than a good chortle about the latest fashion in dog collars or the equally rich seam of comedy in tales of dog food packaging. We constantly have to mobilise against the damaging propaganda of that old chestnut the 'shaggy dog story'. what about shaggy chipmunks? Or short-haired dogs?
My favourite funny at the moment is the Ricky Gervais training video for Microsoft:

I'm famous! Not only do I have my own website (with 312 visitors so far!) but I'm on the front cover of an (OK, slightly niche) publication about improving the daily experiences of acute psychiatric inpatients.
www.starwards.org.uk
Check it out - there are also photos of me on page 3 (bit unfortunate that. Would have preferred a different page number as I'm a mid-feminist dog) and on the inside cover.
I was talked about in Parliament! Not exactly in the chamber, but at the reception to launch Marion's Star Wards' project. Personally, had I been sectioned, held on a locked ward and subsequently found out Id got Borderline Personality Disorder, I think I'd have been rather more private about it than Marion's being. Still, as long as she carries on giving me tasty dog-chews, I couldn't frankly care less.
You can read about ME (and the Star Wards project if you really want to) in an article in The Guardian

A little personal, this, but I want to share with you that I'm completely pre-occupied with boy dogs at the moment. I've tried chatting them up in the park, by going right up to them and howling. But that doesn't seem to work. Lorna won't let me off the lead so that I could race round and howl at more boys. And as if that frustration and humiliation weren't enough, Marion has decided to mark the first day of Chanukah by tying a ludicrous Christmas tie thingy around my innocent neck. I suppose a menorah would be worse and do nothing for my posture. talking of dogs and Jewish stuff, check out the zaniest pet toys around: www.oytoys.com/Jewish-Pet-Toys-s/97.htm. We're talking Schlepp the Camel chewy toy, a Matzah Ball and something which I have to confess is one of my favourite playthings, a plush blue and white kosher soft toy, complete with squeak.
